This count matters more than the insurance one. Traffic school keeps the point off the record and out of insurers' view, protecting premiums for years. It requires paying the fine plus a school fee. Ask about traffic school before turning to the insurance count.

「保险公司把日期改了。」"The insurance company backdated it." — you don't know that.
「我不知道美国要买保险。」"I didn't know insurance was required." — this weakens your position and isn't true.
